No need to worry about having to prove your injury is sports related!
This policy covers you for accident, injury & illness, at work, home and play – 24/7

Quick guide to this policy

What does it do?

This Long-Term Income Protection policy is great if you take part in amateur sports and activities, because if you are unable to work due to an accident, injury or illness, it will pay you a monthly income to ensure you can still pay your essential bills, mortgage, rent etc.

Great to know:

This policy provides Day 1 Cover, which is the best you can get. When you have been signed-off work for more than 3 days, your claim will be back-dated to the first day you were signed-off.

You will automatically be covered whilst taking part in any type of amateur competition / racing / event etc.

This policy covers you for ALL sports no matter how extreme (at no extra cost), and also includes cover for non sports-related injuries and illness too, so you are covered 24/7 at work, rest and play.

You can make multiple claims, even for the same injury or illness, and there are no time restrictions or limits on making claims.

This policy suits those who want serious peace of mind. When compared against our Short-Term Income Protection policy, this policy provides comprehensive long-term cover.

How much will I get paid?

Whether you are employed or self-employed, it will pay you up to 65% of your earnings.

How does it pay out?

On a monthly basis. It continues to pay out until you return to paid work or you reach your occupational retirement age (whichever is sooner).

Why do I need it?

Could you still pay your mortgage, rent, bills or other living expenses if you were unable to work? Income protection policies are great because no one knows what lies ahead, but we do know that an accident, injury or illness can strike at any time.

A little more information.

An important reason for taking out this policy, is that it provides you with ‘guaranteed continued cover’ after a claim, which means you to claim for the same thing time after time.

For example: A policy holder receives payment for 3 months when signed off work due to a knee injury whilst playing rugby. A few months after recovery he injures the same knee again, and this time is signed off work for 4 months. Fortunately he is able to make another claim, even though it is for the same injury.

As this policy is so comprehensive, acceptance is subject to underwriting, so it is necessary to complete a short medical questionnaire. Once the policy has started, for as long as you have the policy, you’ll never have to do it again.

Previous broken bones and fractures will still normally be covered for future injuries, but any previous ligament damage requiring surgery may result in a specific exclusion for that particular joint. You will be informed of any exclusions in writing before the policy starts.

Sometimes an extreme sport may be excluded, where you have sought medical attention twice or more within the last five years as a result of that specific sport or activity.

This policy is provided by Cirencester Friendly Society. For full details, please read the Product Guide.

Professional sports-people are not covered on this policy. If this is you, please see our Basic Injury Plan.

Am I eligible for this policy?

NOTE 1: If you have more than one job or take on another job(s) at any time during your contract you must tell us. We will treat them as a single occupation which means that if you are able to do any of your jobs you will not be eligible to claim benefits.

NOTE 2: If you do receive some guaranteed sick payments from your employer, alternative waiting periods are available up to 52 weeks deferred, please contact his for an individual quote.

NOTE 3: If your occupation is listed above, as one that this policy does not cover, please see out Basic Injury Plan and our Short-Term Income Protection Policy as these provide cover for ALL occupations.
